My father built his radios, I assembled my computers but no longer! The circuits in these "machines" are currently one tenth the thickness of a hair. Hardly built, more like printed - layers of stencils allow the components to be "sprayed on" often only an atom thick!
The mind boggles!
We humans are out of the loop. We cannot go back and certainly not forward.

At this point in history we are marooned on the traffic island of technology unable to get back to where we were or to do anything about it ever again.
The thumbs of babes and sucklings once removed from their mouths rapidly text on a dozen keys instead of the 104 keys of the now totally obsolete querty keyboard. But soon even this will pass away leaving only voice and picture links.
What next I wonder?
