Pile Up!

Have you ever wondered the result when the fuel famine makes it impossible to make any profit trucking food to and from the Central Depots to supermarkets as they do now
The populations of even our smaller towns would not be fed from the produce of local farms. especiually when large acreages are dedicated to growing biofuel crops.
Will the amount of biofuel produced locally be enough to take farm produce to market?
The biofuel versus food crops situation mirrors the Victorian era when forage had to be grown for the huge number of horses used for transport.
But as an illustration, imagine each car and truck on the motorways replaced by its equivalent horse transport.
Cars produce CO2 and Carbon in their exhaust. Horses produce methane, and copious amounts of urine and horse manure. Not only smelly but at the end of the day - several feet deep!
The travellers of the past were but few, as most people stayed within walking distance of their village.
It will be the same for us exceptthat much more transport and food will be required as there are far, far more of us now than in the past. OH DEAR!
