Look closely at this picture - that is not a police uniform but is a Police Community Support Officer [PCSO].They tell us that the streets safer now with 127 [in my local area] PCSO's patrolling the district.
[American readers please note] Only the criminals are armed the Police in general are not. If there is any trouble the armed Units are soon there who shoot to kill. Riot squads resemble the Black Knight of our ancient past.
Criminals are those who break the law and these lawmen are their opposite number.
However - Please remember that England has 2 million CCTV cameras watching our every move.
In London - Face Recognition software can easily spot a suspect felon in a crowd.
Crystal clear images identify crooks and are used as court evidence.
Science fiction is now plain fact. All Officers are equipped with Neural Whips {Tasers] which totally disable the wrong-doer - they don't need guns!
OK - so what's my point?
Now that the cops have been reinforced by the PCSOs - the eyes and ears of the Force - Electronic and Human - what about the Masses of the Great Unwashed - us!
Anyone making mention of Peak Oil on phone in programmes is blatantly cut off. There is no discussion of Oil whatever!
There are more road fatalities each day than all the terrorist crimes ever committed! So what is the real reason for this surge in Command and Control?
