Baden-Powell was Right

I had a real fright yesterday.
The news declared a rise in the
fuel price so as I drove into the supermarket carpark, I saw to my horror that the filling station forecourt was coned off.

OH Dear! I thought its all happening again! It was worse inside the store, many shelves were bare or just had a few items left.

My mind zoomed back to our days in Africa, where we lived under Martial Law.
Usually, there, empty shelves were so common, as not to be unusual but this is England in 2007.

Putting two and two together, fuel supply shut down and empty shelves painted the Peak Oil Scenario only too well and I wasn't ready.
I had no grab bag full of survival goodies.
I didn't have sacks of dried beans and barrels of flour stashed away under the stairs.
I was unprepared and in great danger!!

In my anguish I questioned a shelf stacker who casually remarked that all the food had been binned as the
fridges had gone down during the night.
[
Why one might ask - but didn't]
and the tanker was expected at the filling station so it was policy to keep out the cars until the underground tank filling was completed [and the price on the hoarding had been altered].

Tomorrow will not be a Fright but a Fact. The wolves are waiting!
Baden Powell was Right "Be Prepared" is the whole of the law.
