very Cold Turkey

5,000 turkeys, 1,000 ducks and 500 geese have been killed this week on Redgrave Park Farm near Diss in Suffolk where the highly-contagious and lethal H5N1 virus was found,
"They" say that they were infected by "wild birds"
So
Should there not be a 3km (1.9-mile) protection zone and a 10km (6.2-mile) surveillance zone have been set up around every bird table in the land?

Should there not also be a ring of steel around all those posh WildLife reserves beloved of bird watchers?

At least our southern defence forces are on the [lead] ball in the Pyrenees where a host of volunteer gun men at this time of year will blow any feathers out of the sky.

UPDATE = 22,000 turkeys on three more farms culled - more to come no doubt

The turkey Christmas voting has been called off [do turkeys vote for Christmas?]
