Many people from Livingstones "Dark Continent" are skinny in their youth, but with good food, balloon immensely to Diva-like proportions, sufficiently grand, to end the Opera.
This human physical attribute was perhaps a survival feature, allowing the body to use up stores of fat in times of famine, and to pack on the pounds, when the hunting was good. A fresh, flesh food glut triggered gluttony, as semi starving folks, would eat until literally stuffed, and so would their "sisters, cousins and aunts", dogs and cats, rats and mice and all the birds of the air. After sleeping off such a surfeit of gluttony, the hunt would begin once again, no one eating again until the hunters' return.
Today, hunting is far too easy. We return home every time loaded with food. We haven't walked for weeks staving off hunger pangs, with Hoodii Gordonii herbs, as we track down ever elusive game.
Every day is a feast but we do not get a J-Lo derriere, but just get so loaded with fat that our hearts and lungs suffocate and stop - dead!
A Feast and Famine rythmn lets the body expand and contract naturally, but we see everywhere, bodies that have never contracted, but merely expanded each day, from early childhood.
