Unless one likes a lot of living room it is quite feasible to see apartments reducing in size as the amount of furniture dwindles. Even the Table has gone as everyone eats separately now, sitting on the well advertised sofa watching frenetic advertising for New Kitchens and those incessant Cooking Programmes. Perhaps the former is a new form of decorative status symbol and the latter sheer entertainment.
