Why?
I beleive that soldiers ususally carry emergency medical kit to patch themselves up when they are wonded.
What, in heavens name, is wrong with filling their packs with extra bandages and antiseptics and sending them in ahead of the Doctors, their field operating equipment and cold storage.
Even in the Boer War there were runners taking equipment to the front from "behind the line"
In Haiti, there is only a chain link fence between catastrophic disaster and by now, overabundant supplies covered in cargo nets on the guarded airport
In the Berlin Airlift, food and water were dropped daily over the city.
Surely this can be still be done for the worse Earthquake ever? First Aid indeed
The dying are being bandaged with red tape
